RUFC - Hammy 'We Want Club To Be In Better Position'

RUFC - Hammy 'We Want Club To Be In Better Position'

Rotherham United's First Team Coach Matty Hamshaw was asked by Radio Sheffield if, once the Millers relegation has been confirmed, that Manager's might start putting their names forward for the vacant job.

'I suppose so,' Hammy agreed.

'But you have to ask yourself if they don't want to come when the clubs in a bit of a crisis are they the right person for the club.

'Generally when you come into a football club you're in because things haven't been going right. You don't see many Managers getting jobs when the club's top of the league and going to get crowned Champions.

'If Managers want to get attracted to a football club after relegation then my personal question would be 'are they the right person to take the club forward' if they felt they couldn't handle the situation when it's not so great.'

Asked if him and Warney spoke about there being in charge next season, Hammy said, 'No we don't. We generally talk about day to day things. We've been out watching games this week as have John Breckin and Mike Pollitt and Jamie Johnson and we're trying to do the job the best we can. We have to make sure the structure of the club is moving in the right direction.

'Come August, whether it's us or someone else, we want to make sure this club is in a lot better position on and off the pitch than this season.'
