Rotherham United defender Kirk Broadfoot has only managed four games this season, his last game being in the Millers two-one home win against Norwich City.

Kirk played the full ninety minutes of the opening game in August but a 'mystery injury' to his foot and/or back put him out of action until the start of the year away at Leeds. He went on to play twice more before it was revealed that he needed a second back operation which would keep him out for the rest of the season.

He might not be able to play but First Team Coach Matty Hamshaw says that the thirty-two year old is still having an influence in and around the dressing room.

Speaking to MillersPlayer Hammy said, 'Broady is a great lad and a great pro and we just want him back.

'He's frustrated in the gym. He's in every day and, if he could, he'd do five sessions. The problem he may have had previously is that he's wanted to come back too quickly and we have to make sure for him, and for us, that when he comes back he's in the best possible shape.

'He's a great figure to have around. When he got his last injury we felt like he was just coming back on a run.

'But, luckily for us and him this injury isn't a massive long term one and the signs coming from him and our physio are that is recuperation is going well althogh he's disappointed that he's probably played the last football of his season.'
