'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Knill Post Doncaster

Rotherham United manager, Alan Knill, sounded dejected on radio Sheffield after today`s game at the Keepmoat.

'We have been working all week on defending and set pieces and their second goal came from a set piece whilst the first one was from a free header, which shows we lack organisation. We can`t keep conceding goals like this.

'I thought the first half was good and we showed passion and commitment.`

He told the Official Site that Martin Woods goal was long overdue. He said 'it was a fabulous goal. Martin is a great player with great ability.`

Of new boy, Chris O`Grady, he said, 'Chris is a strong and powerful player and he looked dangerous in the first half but in the second half we couldn`t get him into the game. But, it is not Chris I am worried about at the moment; it is the fact that we are conceding goals.`

He then went on to thank the fans, 'I want to thank every one of them who came today. We brought 3 000 to the game and I know the second half must have been difficult for them. I am working tirelessly to get us out of the bottom four and, with everyone backing us, I am confident we can get out of this position.

I don't think I have ever heard a manager sound so down as Knilly did after todays game

we need to get a couple of defenders in asap

Problem is,if Knilly is that down does it rub off on the players?

Isn't it dangerous trying to sign new defenders when you'll still have their wage bil next season when you're in League Div 2?
