Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne says that the pay-off striker Dexter Blackstock got when he left the club by mutual consent will NOT affect any future transfer plans.

Speaking to David Beddows of the Rotherham Advertiser Warney said, 'It's not a massive amount of money and it doesn't have any immediate effect when we discuss the budget.

'We are well aware certain players are coming and going and there is no massive change one way or the other.'

Going on to say that he didn't blame Blackstock for signing such a good deal with the Millers, Warney carried on, 'If I'd been him I'd have signed it.

'If he was on £20 a week no-one would care when, during his career, it was probably the worst he signed. It's all relative.

'Players come in for what they're worth and what we think we can afford to give. When he was signed he was signed for the right reasons, then again so were many other players who have come and gone. I just think that maybe he had the biggest name. But, that doesn't mean you are guaranteed success.

'He wasn't a bad lad. He wasn't bad around the training ground. His opinion of how to play football was different to mine.

'I have no hard feelings towards him it's just that, in my opinion, he isn't a Rotherham type player.'

I think his idea of how to play football was also different from the majority of Rotherham fans - and that's putting it mildly!!
