'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Manager Speaks

Rotherham United manager, Alan Knill was speaking tonight on Radio Sheffield about the activity at Millmoor today

'Craig Fleming will bring in great experience,' he said, 'he is a natural leader and natural competitor. He can play anywhere across the back four and is very versatile. I needed someone to come in and be a leader and Craig fitted that bill.'

On Theo Streete he said, 'Theo had a good loan spell at Doncaster Rovers and we tried to get him just after he left there but couldn't do a deal. He is young and quick and has a long throw. We have it at the end of the season to cover at right back.'

'Ian Henderson is good and very clever,' said the manager, 'He just needs a goal. And, it adds more competition up front.'

'It was a pity it didn't work out with Scott Wiseman he is a great athlete and great at going forward. He needs to work hard on his defensive duties. I couldn't guarantee his first team football.'

'We have other good news in that Michael Keane and Gregor Robertson have trained all week and I will have a nearly fully fit squad for the Brighton game.'

'I have asked everyone for a midfielder but wages have been a stumbling block or the length of the loan. I am happy to get Craig, Theo and Hendo. The Board have been fantastic.'

When asked about the difficulty of the transfer window closing he said,

I hope when it gets to twelve o'clock tonight no more of my players have gone!'
