Official Press Release from Millmoor

An Official Press Release from Millmoor has appeared, today on the Official Site. Below is what it said:

It has been made public recently that CF Booth Limited, alleged Landlord of the club and former majority shareholder of the club had issued proceedings in Rotherham County Court re possession of Millmoor , the Rotherham United Suite, the Training Ground and Changing Facilities at the Training Ground ('the Leases`)

The club failed to pay the rent for the month of December in relation to the Leases. The club was in position to rectify this position during the first week of January but CF Booth Limited had by then, despite various explanations from the club, issued their proceedings which if they had been successful today would have seen the Club evicted from Millmoor and relevant facilities.

During this time the Club, however, has been considering certain transactions, which took place in December 2004, with its Lawyers and further to taking advice, issued in the High Court in Leeds on Friday, 2nd February 2007, a claim against CF Booth Limited to set aside certain transactions that took place in December 2004 which, if successful, could bring about the setting aside of the Leases as stated above.

Also on Friday, a Defence was served by the Club to each of the forfeiture proceedings explaining that as the Club had issued a claim to set aside the Leases it would be sensible to have that claim heard before the Court ruled on the forfeiture proceedings.

The Club was successful in their application today to have the possessions hearing stopped until the Club`s claim against CF Booth Limited which could take several months is decided. The Court also ruled that until the claim against CF Booth Limited is determined it should pay sums equivalent to the rental payments due to CF Booth Limited to the Court, which was something the Club had offered to the Court.

As the claim in the High Court against CF Booth Limited progresses the Club will of course keep everyone informed. At this moment the Club would like to assure all supporters and stakeholders that this situation will not detract attention from the day to day running of the Club.

The Management Team and Directors would also like to thank all supporters for their continued support and look forward to seeing as many supporters as possible at Millmoor tomorrow night to get behind Alan and the team.

This is just what we don't need at this moment in time why can't boothy just accept what rotherham offered and then sort it all out when the season has finished as i think this will only distact the players and put them off thier game
