RUFC - Warney 'Everyone At The Club Should Be Pleased'

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne told iFOLLOW that he was 'really pleased' after the Millers one-nil away win at Rochdale this afternoon.

'Our away form hasn't been ace,' the Millers Boss said, 'although with all the fans we brought here today it felt like an in-between game, not a home or away game. They were nice and loud and that helped the lads.

'We've kept a clean sheet and Rochdale haven't conceded for five games so I'm really pleased. If I'm honest, before the game I'd have took a point because an away point with our home form would be great.

'It was horrendous conditions today and I told them that it would be an ugly game but that they've got to come to places like this, be ugly and pick up points. I thought we played well considering the conditions, defended really well and Rich (O'Donnell) was excellent in goal.

'I thought their 'keeper made a great save from Richie Towell in the first half when he was clean through. I thought Will Vaulks came on and did really well but a lot of the good play comes because Darren Potter is so relaxed.

'I think we should score more goals like today from set-pieces. We had loads of corners, loads of free-kicks and although sometimes the execution wasn't great I always thought we were a threat. I'm pleased for Richard Wood that he got the goal although he should get more.

'There's some really tired lads in there but they are really pleased with what they've done and we are really proud with what the lads put in.

'It's a great feeling to be fourth but we're only in the first week of October and we need to keep performing at home and winning. Everyone at the club should be pleased.'
