RUFC - Frecks Not As Bad As First Thought

RUFC - Frecks Not As Bad As First Thought

Rotherham United have had some good news/bad news regarding skipper Lee Frecklington according to Millers Manager Paul Warne.

Speaking to Radio Sheffield Warney said, 'Initially we thought Frecks was out for six weeks because I thought it was his hamstring.

'But the physio's tell me it's more a back problem and although a scan showed he has slight hamstring damage it's not bad. He's had treatment on his back and he might be involved this weekend. We will look at him on a daily basis but he's coming on leaps and bounds.

'Frecks is important to me. He drives the team on so, if I can get him on the pitch on Saturday I will.'

More good news is that Joe Newell who missed the win over Rochdale on Saturday should be fit for this weekends game with Scunthorpe United.

'He will be training tomorrow and we are hopeful he will be involved on Saturday,'

Although Jon Taylor won't play on Saturday he is close to coming back.

'He trained hard on Monday and Tuesday and didn't have any swelling so that's good and he could be in contention for the games after this weekend. He's confident and happy so that's good.

'Another good thing is that Kieffer Moore played on Saturday and has also trained early this week, which he doesn't normally do, so I'm hoping his groin issues are behind him.

'The only problem is that potentially it's three games in a week for him next week and with all the travel (to AFC Wimbledon and Oxford) then that could take it's toll. But, at the moment I think he's in a good place.'
