RUFC - Warney Expects Fans To Give Players A Boost

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne told iFOLLOW that he thinks the travelling fans will give the players a big boost on Saturday at Doncaster.

It's been reported that there will be around four thousand Millers fans making their way to the Keepmoat for the South Yorkshire derby despite the fact that it's live on Sky, which is a lot more than braved the cold on Tuesday night at Bradford in the Checkatrade Trophy game.

'I think all those fans being there will add a bit more excitement to the game,' Warney said, 'and, from a players point of view, if I knew there was four thousand fans cheering me on, it would give me a right boost.

'A local derby and all that following, as a player, makes you think you can run that bit harder, tackle that bit stronger and they are games you want to play in.

'Doncaster are a good footballing side and I'm expecting a competitive game. They like to attack down the middle of the pitch and we play in a different way so it will be conflicting styles. I'd like to think it will be an entertaining game but it might end up just being a man-for-man battle.

'We'll explain to the lads the importance of the game and they will really appreciate the away following and hopefully it will help them perform to the level we want.

'We're looking forward to it and hopefully we will come out victorious.'

I know Warney says 'no' but do you think we need a defensive coach?
