RUFC - Warney Would Rather Ball Score Today

Rotherham United got a point at Doncaster this afternoon with a late - very late - equaliser which gave top scorer Kieffer Moore his thirteenth goal of the campaign.

'To be honest,' Millers Manager Paul Warne told Radio Sheffield, 'I'd rather David Ball has scored today. I think the world of Bally and he needs to get his season going.

'But goalscorers score goals and it fell to Kieffer at the right time.'

I'm not sure if Kieffer is aware of what Warney said but he himself said that scoring so late on makes it feel more like a win than a draw.

'As a collective unit it wasn't the best performance,' the loanee from Ipswich said after the one-all draw at the Keepmoat, 'but we dug in and gave the last six minutes a right go and we got a goal from it.

'I didn't have a lot of opportunities but as soon as I saw the ball drop down I knew it was going to hit the back of the net. I would have been happy if anyone had scored it but it fell to me and thankfully I put it away.

'We did well at Oxford to come back to three-three and another draw today, we are learning as we go and as a team we are growing. As the games go by we're getting better and better.

'I'm a very ambitious person and I set myself targets every month and I do everything I can to get those goals. I'm happy doing what I'm doing and I'm happy to be scoring goals and I'm enjoying my football here.

'It's always good to come away in a local derby and get something.'

Asked about his future, Kieffer said, 'It's not my decision. Yes, Rotherham would like to get me and I'd love to be here but all I can say is it's out of my hands. I'm loving it and I can't be more thankful to the boys in the dressing room, the Gaffer and all the staff. It's a great club and there's a great atmosphere in the dressing room.'
