RUFC - View From The Opposition - Doncaster Rovers

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne thought his team deserved the point they got at the Keepmoat on Saturday.

But Doncaster Rovers Manager Darren Ferguson told Radio Sheffied that the draw felt more like a defeat.

Rovers took the lead just after the hour mark albeit from a fortuitous own goal with the Millers getting the equaliser deep into time added on at the end of the ninety minutes.

'It was a real body blow at the end,' Ferguson said, 'with the last kick of the ball they've somehow got it into the net.

'We are deeply disappointed because it feels like a defeat in a game we deserved to win. I don't want to focus too much on it but on another day the ref blows up when he should.

'Apart from fifteen minutes at the end of the first half we controlled the game and we handled the boy up front really well who is six feet five inches tall and always going to be a threat.

'These affairs can be scrappy, can be quite frantic but any football played was from us and we played the way we wanted to. We managed the game very well.

'I felt my players were outstanding. There was commitment, effort, desire and determination in my players to win a derby and nine times out of ten we probably would have won it.'
