RUFC - Warney's Lucky Coat

RUFC - Warney's Lucky Coat

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne might not be an actual Yorkshire man but he's worked here long enough to adapt to some of the ways.

And when it comes to buying a new coat although he went to Oxford for it he did buy it in a sale!

He showed his new coat off in the freezing cold at Bradford on Tuesday night which saw his side win three-nil in the Checkatrade Trophy and after being in the sunshine in the first half on Saturday at the Keepmoat dressed in just shirt sleeves he put the 'lucky' coat on for the second half when the sun disappeared.

We say 'lucky' coat but Warney himself told Radio Sheffield, 'I love this coat and so if I call it the 'lucky' coat then I can wear it again.

'When I came out before the game the sun was out but when I came out for the start of the first half Polly (Mike Pollitt) said 'where's yer Kenny' meaning my Kenny Jacket. I told him it was nice and warm but the sun had gone and I'm a bit nesh* so by half-time I'd decided to put it on for the second half.

'Though you can't really say it's a lucky coat because my centre-half scored their goal so I don't know if it's that lucky!'

We will have to wait and see in the coming months just how lucky Warney's coat will be!

*Nesh - According to Wikipedia is a word used around these parts meaning feeble, weak, or infirm
