RUFC - Has Warney Got A Difficult Job On Saturday?

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne will be looking to replace two players for next weekends game against Blackpool.

Midfielder Darren Potter is a major doubt having gone off early in the game against Bristol Rovers injured. He will also be looking to replace top scorer Kieffer Moore after his sending off in the same game.

To replace Moore might be a little easier than replacing Potter.

The Millers could play David Ball up front on his own or he could pair him with Jonson Clarke-Harris, Jerry Yates or even Alex Bray.

Jono has made thirteen appearances this season the majority of those off the bench with his only goal coming in the Checkatrade Trophy win away at Bradford City. Yates has played nine times this season again mostly off the bench and he also scored in the Bradford City game but also in our five-one league win over Oldham at the New York Stadium. Bray has only made four appearances, none of those being in the league and making just one start.

Finding a midfield replacement for Darren Potter might be a bit more difficult.

Will Vaulks would slot in and I think it's his preferred position (and he's actually scored more goals than the aforementioned strikers!) and he came on when Potter limped off on Saturday. Anthony Forde was dropped to the bench for the Bristol Rovers game so could go back in as could Richie Towell who was also on the bench on Saturday who has also found the net three times.

Some good news is that Jon Taylor should be fit to play at Blackpool which could help Warney - although I think Tayls is better on the wing and both Ryan Williams and Joe Newell did a good job there this weekend!

Put all this together and take into account that with the grumbling from the fans this game really feels like we need to get something from it - coupled together with what I know of the pitch at Bloomfield Road not being the best I think Warney has a bit of a difficult task on Saturday.

Hey, who'd be a Manager, eh?!

If you was Warney what team would you pick?
