RUFC - Warne Says 'Kieffer Situation' 'Out Of His Hands'

The seven hundred plus Rotherham United fans saw Kieffer Moore play what looks like being his last game in a Millers shirt this afternoon away at Walsall.

The twenty-five year old, who is the Millers top scorer with thirteen goals, is going back to his parent club Ipswich Town tomorrow - to play for them or to be sold is yet to be determined.

Kieffer came on at half-time this afternoon at the Banks's Stadium to replace Jerry Yates and worked hard at both ends of the pitch, aiding the Millers to a two-one win by helping set up the winning goal.

'He will be going back to Ipswich,' Millers Manager Paul Warne told Radio Sheffield.

'We have put a bid in but I presume so have other clubs and he will go to the highest bidder if they want to sell him. The fact that he's a bit of a cult hero here could work in our advantage and it's always nice to play for a club where you are loved.

'I spoke to Mick (McCarthy) who told me that Kieffer might even play for Ipswich in their game on Tuesday night and if that is the case then I wish him all the best. If he goes back and plays in the Championship every week what can you say. He's done great for us and I feel like I'm losing a son.

'Hopefully he'll be back but we don't know and it's out of my hands.'

I just hope if they sell him we get a chance to sign him going back to his club is fair enough but I can’t take any more players going to our opponents due to lack of money

Exactly Chris. I'm not sure but I think that if he plays just once for Ipswich then he can't go anywhere else but there or Rotherham? Something about only playing for two clubs in a season? Would need confirmation of that though.
