RUFC - RIP Rod Fern (1948-2018)

RUFC - RIP Rod Fern (1948-2018)

Vital Rotherham are sad to hear the news that former Miller Rod Fern has passed away.

Striker Rod joined the Millers from Chesterfield in 1979, already a proven goalscorer and helped Rotherham win the Division Three title in the 1980/1 season against Plymouth at Millmoor.

Rod scored around fifty goals which included a hat-trick in our six-nil win at Millmoor against Chelsea.

Before joining Rotherham Rod played for Leicester City, playing for the Foxes in the 1969 FA Cup Final against Manchester City. From Leicester he joined Luton and then onto Chesterfield before finishing his career at Millmoor in 1983.

All at Vital Rotherham send our condolences to Rod's family and friends.
