RUFC - Millers Boss Confident Of Bringing In Striker

Rotherham Untied Manager Paul Warne told Paul Davis of The Star that he wants to bring in a centre-forward with pace.

Already fetching in forward Michael Smith from Bury, the club have offered 'a good price' for another striker with Warney saying, 'it's up to his club whether they want to sell.

'It's a bit of a waiting game and I have spoken to a couple who are giving it some thought, but I'm confident I will get somebody.'

Warney also said that if Walsall's Erhun Oztumer came available then the Millers would be interested.

On people going out, the name of Richard Wood, who is thought to be interesting Chesterfield, came up with his Boss saying, 'That ship could have sailed. Unless I can get someone in who is significantly better than the back four I have currently, then I am happy to go with what I`ve got. As things stand I don't see a lot better out there.'

Rotherham United's fighting spirit did them well this afternoon after they came from one down in the first half to win the South Yorkshire derby with Doncaster Rovers two-one - but boy, did they leave it late!

Joe Mattock was back in the starting line-up for the Millers with Michael Ihiekwe, who had replaced him last week, nowhere to be seen. Rovers also made one change with Ben Whiteman replacing the injured Luke McCullough.
