RUFC - Who Will Start Tomorrow?

RUFC - Who Will Start Tomorrow?

Rotherham United take on Oxford United at the New York Stadium tomorrow evening with the Millers hoping to keep their unbeaten run going.

The two-one win away at Scunthorpe on Saturday afternoon was the Millers eleventh game without defeat and they go into tomorrows game in fifth place, four points above Bradford in sixth and a point behind Scunthorpe in fourth.

But with the Millers having another tough game away at Shrewsbury on Saturday, who would you start tomorrow?

Barring injuries Marek Rodak will start, I think we know that's a given.

Right and left backs will be Josh Emmanuel and Joe Mattock with centre-halves Semi Ajayi and Richard Wood keeping their places. And there is no doubt that Will Vaulks will start.

Anthony Forde, Joe Newell and Richie Towell started the game on Saturday with Newell being subbed with twenty minutes to go and Ryan Williams replacing him.

David Ball and Michael Smith started up front. Caolan Lavery came on for Ball for the final fifteen minutes of the game.

I do wonder if both Forde and Newell might start on the bench tomorrow with Williams and perhaps Matty Palmer starting. I also thought Smith looked a bit leggy going into the last fifteen minutes or so and perhaps Lavery could get his first start?

Millers Manager Paul Warne has told the Official Site that he doesn't think any changes are necessary saying he will only freshen things up if necessary.

Some good news coming out of the New York Stadium this afternoon is that long term injured Darren Potter has begun running on grass and could start training with the first team next week.

South Yorkshire Bragging Rights Go To The Millers

Rotherham United's fighting spirit did them well this afternoon after they came from one down in the first half to win the South Yorkshire derby with Doncaster Rovers two-one - but boy, did they leave it late!

Joe Mattock was back in the starting line-up for the Millers with Michael Ihiekwe, who had replaced him last week, nowhere to be seen. Rovers also made one change with Ben Whiteman replacing the injured Luke McCullough.

It was a scrappy start to the game and although Rovers
