RUFC - Warne 'There Were Some Amazing Performances'

Rotherham United Manager Paul Warne didn't think his side played as comfortable as they have been doing in this evening's three-one win over Oxford.

Speaking after seeing his side move up to fourth in League One, the Millers Boss told Radio Sheffield, 'I didn't think we looked as comfortable or played as fluidly as we have been doing in recent weeks but I'm really pleased with the win because it's another win closer to where we are trying to get to.

'I was pleased with the way we started then we scored and I wasn't pleased with some of the decisions the lads were making on the ball. We created enough chances to win the game comfortably but you have to take them.

'I thought Oxford were really good tonight, had a lot of the ball and caused us problems so I always felt we needed the two goal advantage. They scored a great goal and I thought they defended really well.

'I think maybe the weekend took something out of a few of our lads because they looked a little bit jaded tonight. But the lads gave their all and there were some amazing performances.

'You can't say it isn't entertaining when you come here. It was end to end football and there's definitely goals.

Asked if he thought his side should have had a penalty going into half-time when David Ball looked certain to score then went over, with Warney saying, 'Well goalscorers don't usually go down when they've got an empty net to kick it into. Initially I thought it was a penalty and Bally was upset. I haven't seen it back yet but I can't see why he'd go to ground when he's in the perfect position to put it in the net.'

Joe Mattock went limped off in the first half with the Millers Boss saying, 'He tightened up, which has happened to him before. I don't think he's pulled it but he didn't feel he could run at full pace so it was precautionary to take him off. Hopefully it will settle down. Michael (Ihiekwe) came on and I thought he did really well considering he's a centre-half against probably their best player.'

South Yorkshire Bragging Rights Go To The Millers

Rotherham United's fighting spirit did them well this afternoon after they came from one down in the first half to win the South Yorkshire derby with Doncaster Rovers two-one - but boy, did they leave it late!

Joe Mattock was back in the starting line-up for the Millers with Michael Ihiekwe, who had replaced him last week, nowhere to be seen. Rovers also made one change with Ben Whiteman replacing the injured Luke McCullough.

It was a scrappy start to the game and although Rovers
