In the fixture earlier this season at Millmoor Northampton beat Rotherham 2-1 with both the visitors goals coming from McGleish while Dave Hibbert scored for the home team.

In the 2003/04 season it was again a 2-1 victory for the Cobblers and a one all draw at the Sixfields Stadium.

2001/02 saw the teams meet three times, twice in the League and once in the FA Cup with Rotherham winning each game 1-0.
