Head 2 Head Millers v Port Vale

Rotherham United will be looking to achieve a league double on Saturday when we entertain Port Vale at Millmoor.
A 3-1 victory at Vale Park in October was the first in a 4 game winning run which brought former manager, Alan Knill a well deserved Manager of the Month award.

The Millers have been beaten just 3 times in this fixture over the years and we will be hoping for our 15th win in 24 meetings at Millmoor.

The biggest victory in this series was a stunning 7-0 win on 26th August 1972.
Carl Gilbert netting an hat-trick and Trevor Swift, Rod Johnson, Norman Whitehead and Trevor Womble bagging one each in front of 4,531 fans.

The last league fixture between the 2 sides at Millmoor finished in a 1-1 draw on January 10th 2006.
Will Hoskins scored in the 26th minute to cancel out a Micheal Husbands opener after 7 minutes.
The game will be remembered however, for a red card shown to Millers midfielder Michael Keane
