Millers v Bees, Head 2 Head

Millers v Bees, Head 2 Head

Despite a disappointing 2-1 defeat there last season, The Millers have returned unbeaten from Griffin Park in 13 of our 23 league trips there over the years.

In October last year we beat The Bees 2-0 at Millmoor, courtesy of 2 Lee Williamson goals early in the second half, so we will be looking for a league double to keep up our slim hopes of staying in League 1 next season.

Last season at Griffin Park saw Deon Burton give Rotherham a 1-0 lead after just 8 minutes, only for us to be pegged back 3 minutes later by a Kevin O,Connor penalty.
Former Barnsley striker Isiah Rankin then hit a 37th minute winner to give the home side all 3 points.

There has been several exciting games at Griffin Park over the years, but my personal favourite was the 2-1 victory in February 1991, as it was our very first league away win in what was a bitterly disappointing season.
On that day, former Chelsea midfielder Keith Jones gave The Bees a first half lead, before an equaliser from Mark Dempsey brought The Millers level and a 93rd minute cracker from on loan striker Tony Cullen from Sunderland sent the travelling fans home very happy.
