Robins - I will give kids a chance

Rotherham United's caretaker manager,Mark Robins, has told The Star that he is ready to look at the young players at the club.

'The youngsters will try their socks off and give the supporters plenty of effort and pride. They will play for the shirt,' he said. 'They will be out to make a name for themselves and I won't be afraid to give them a chance.'

Mark Newsham, Liam King and Sam Duncum all featured in the 5-1 defeat on Saturday to Port Vale. Ryan Taylor has also played in the first team and seventeen year old Jamie Yates has been on the bench. With Stephen Brogan, Theo Streete, Ian Henderson and new on-loan defender, Rossi Jarvis all being under twenty-one the Millers team is looking very young.

'I am looking at the young players,' said Robins,'and there might even be a surprise in store.'
