March 16th in Millers history

March 16th hasn't been the best of days for Rotherham in years gone by, with just 4 wins from 15 games.
Also one of Rotherham United's biggest ever defeats took place on this day back in 1929, as mid-table South Shields beat The Millers 10-1 at home.
This defeat coming just 8 months after Rotherham's highest ever loss...11-1 at Bradford City.

Last time out on this day came in 2004 and Rotherham shared the points with Neighbours Sheffield United.
A penalty given away by Chris Swailes on Andy Gray enabled Jack Lester to put the Blades one nil up from the spot on 48 minutes.
However Andy Monkhouse fired Rotherham level just 4 minutes later.

The Millers last win on this day was back in 1999 as a Chris Sedgewick goal after 66 minutes gave Rotherham all 3 points against Cardiff City at Millmoor.
