Head 2 Head Millers v Crewe

Quite a mixed bag of results for the Millers at Gresty Road over the years.
With 10 wins and 7 draws coming on their travels to Cheshire.

Arguably Rotherham's finest performance of the season came in October's 5-1 thrashing of Alex at Millmoor, so United will be looking to secure their 2nd league double of the season on Saturday.

Our last journey to Crewe was in January 2005, when a John Mullin opener on 39 minutes was cancelled out by a Andy White equaliser 11 minutes from time.

The Millers last victory at Gresty Road came just 6 days after our Auto Windscreen Shield win at Wembley.
A Shaun Goodwin opener and a penalty from Wembley hero, Nigel Jemson earned the points in a 2-0 win.

The 2 most famous wins at Crewe were arguably, the 3-1 victory in March 1989, which helped us on our way to the 4th division Championship, and the 8-1 win in September 1973.
Hot-shot Bobby Williamson hit his first ever Millers hat-trick in the 3-1 win.
While goals from Trevor Phillips 3, Dave Bentley 2, Trevor Womble 2 and 1 from Ron Wigg helped to destroy Crewe in 1973.

The 8-0 win by Crewe in this fixture in 1932 remains to this day as their highest ever league win.
