March 27th in Millers history

March 27th in Millers history

Historically, March 27th hasn't been too kind to Rotherham, but of the more recent games, we have lost only 1 in 7.

That defeat came in 1993 away at Preston.
Ian Banks and Chris Wilder scored for the Millers, but goals from Hemsworth born Micky Norbury (2) and an hat-trick from Tony Ellis secured a 5-2 win for North End.

Last time out for The Millers on March 27th was 3 years ago at home to Preston and this time it was Rotherham who triumphed, courtesy of a 30th minute goal from Martin Butler.

A memorable victory occured on this day in 1989 also, as a Bobby Williamson hat-trick in a 3-1 win at Crewe took Rotherham closer to the 4th Division Championship.

Finally, a John Seasman goal on this day 25 years ago was enough to beat Queen's Park Rangers at Millmoor and leave The Millers in 4th place in Division 2.

lets hope we can break the omen of today by beating blackpool soundly and just noticed if we win we are off the bottom and that should be the start of the climb up the league well (hopefully it will )
