Millmoor Ban Fan

Millmoor Ban Fan

A lifetime ban has been imposed by Rotherham United on the fan who shouted racist comments at Gillingham's International goalkeeper last Saturday.

Kelvin Jack was able to identify the fan, who was sat in the Tivoli, straight away and told the referee, who in turn told the fourth official. The fan was ejected from Millmoor and the club have imposed a lifetime ban on him.

Paul Douglas, Chief Operating Officer at Millmoor, told The Star, 'we have told all the other clubs in the area his name. We will not tolerate this sort of behaviour at Millmoor, infact, our stewards operate zero tolerance on this matter.

'It is disappointing that something like this has happened and I am sure our supporters will condone our actions.'

Referee, Steve Bratt, is expected to include a note on the incident in his match report to the FA who have confirmed they will study the report and seek confirmation from Jack.

It is hoped, because of the prompt and severe action taken by the Millers, they will receive backing from the FA and that will be the end of the matter.

Mr Douglas went on to say, 'We are totally commited at this club to ending racial abuse and will continue to help towards eliminating it.'
