'If It's Football, It's Vital'

What The Drop Will Cost The Millers

Rotherham United Chairman, Denis Coleman, has told The Advertiser that being relegated will cost the club around £500,000.

The funding from the Football League is estimated to drop by £150,000 and falling gates will hit income.

'There will be less season tickets sold, more than likely,' Mr Coleman said, 'but we really need the supporters next season. Without them coming or the monies from season tickets we will be doomed.'

He went on to say that the Board will support manager Mark Robins fully although he knows he has some wheeling and dealing to do. 'We think Mark is the man to get us back but he knows there's not a lot of money at this club.

'We need to bounce back quickly, anything I do in business, I want it done straight away, and this is the same. We don't want to be hanging around in the lower division.

'The sooner we get back to League One the sooner we can start to build for the Championship.'

And one last word to the fans 'If you want a club you have to get behind it.'
