'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Robins on Millers Youth

No one should know the Youth team better at Rotherham United than manager, Mark Robins. It is, after all, only a few weeks ago that he was managing them, before being thrown in at the deep end as caretaker manager of the first team.

And now he is the manager proper as Chairman, Denis Coleman, gave, who he thinks, is the best man for the job.

Robins told MillersWorld today, ' Six of the young lads who have come in have been offered new contracts, and rightly so. They have worked very hard. Two have already accepted (Sam Duncum and Jamie Yates) and I can't see a problem with the others accepting either. We hope to get everything sorted out before the end of this season.

'There is no point having a Youth Policy at a football club if you aren't going to promote the Youth. There is nothing better than having home grown lads in the team.

'The Youth Policy is important - even if you only get one or two coming through and reaching the standard, that's fine.

'We shall have to make sure we keep looking after the Youth side of things.'
