'If It's Football, It's Vital'

O'Grady - Robins helped me

Rotherham United striker, Chris O'Grady, did not have the best of starts when he joined the Millers in January from Leicester City.

But, over the last few weeks, he has come into his own, making some good runs, causing problems for the opposition defences and scoring two cracking goals, one with each foot, against Gillingham and Nottingham Forest.

O'Grady puts his improvement down to a few things but mostly to manager Mark Robins. He told The Advertiser, 'Mark Robins has played a big part. Being a striker himself he has given me lots of pointers and they've been paying off. He's told me to get into positions to score and to do more in and around the penalty area.

'I'd like to think that the goal against Forest, a long-range left-footer, is the type I'm capable of. But I always try to use both feet.

'My better form is also down to having a run in the team and the confidence coming back to the team. If the teams confident it rubs off on you.'

He also says that it will be a battle in League Two, 'It might be scrappy but it's those types of games you have to adjust to get a result. It will be difficult next season but I believe at Millmoor we can dictate to other teams. Our aim has to be to make Millmoor a fortress and go away and be hard to beat.'

O'Grady is contracted to the Millers for the next two years.
