'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Woods Gutted

Martin Woods looks set to be named Rotherham United's Player of the Year, but it is also possible that he will not be at Millmoor next season.

It has been reported that other teams have been watching the twenty-one year old Scot, Wolves being hot favourites to sign him if he decides to leave Millmoor.

'I am absolutely gutted to get relegated,' he told The Advertiser, 'It's hard to take. We put everything in this year but it wasn't good enough.

'We knew, because of the points penalty, that we had to be something special this season but it's still a big disappointment that we didn't manage to pull it off.

'We've started and ended the season well - I don't know what happened half-way through.'

He also said that the transfer of Will Hoskins was a blow and losing him 'killed us a wee bit.'

'We've proved we can battle and play football but it's the middle part of the season that cost us. When times got hard we all needed to stand up and be counted.

'But,it's all about next season now. I'm talking to the chairman. I will have a chat with him and see where we go from there.'

Not half as gutted as the fans i think all of the players should stay even the ones with relegation clauses and get us back into div1 as quickly as possible
