April 23rd in Millers history

St George may have slayed a Dragon on April 23rd, but last time out on this day in 2005, The Millers failed to slay the Wolves.
2 goals from Scottish International Kenny Miller after 55 and 90 minutes put paid to the already relegated Millers.
25,177 fans were present at Molineux that afternoon.

Prior to that, Rotherham had won their last three outings on April 23rd.
Last win was on a Tuesday night in 1996 against Stockport County at Millmoor.
A Shaun Goater penalty and a second from Andy Hayward gave The Millers a 2-0 victory in front of 6,920 fans.
The gate was more than double the season's average of 3,413 because this was our first home game after winning the Auto Windscreens Shield at Wembley just 9 days previously.
The Shield was paraded around the ground pre-match for fans to get a closer look at the silverware.

Before that was a 1-0 win over Hull City again at Millmoor in 1994.
Imre Varadi scoring the only goal for Rotherham's 4th succssive home victory.

The first win in our 3 game winning run on this day was back in 1991 at Field Mill, Mansfield.
The Stags Steve Wilkinson gave Mansfield a first half lead, before John Pearson, with his 5th and final goal of his loan spell, and Clive Mendonca scored the goals to give Rotherham all 3 points and keep alive our chances of Division 3 survival that season.

John Pearson was an inspiration for us that year, and nearly kept us up with his goals.
