April 25th in Millers history

April 25th has been a fruitful day for the Millers over the years, with 6 wins and 3 draws coming from 13 games.
Matches on this day have been pretty scarce recently though with only 1 game in the last 20 years.
This came in 1998 and a 2-2 draw against Rochdale at Millmoor.
In the final home game of Ronnie Moore's first season in charge, Rochdale went into a 2-0 half time lead thanks to goals from Robbie Painter on 32 minutes, and a 44th minute Gary Jones penalty.
However The Millers were on a good run of only 1 defeat in 11 games and still had an outside chance of the Play-offs.
Jason White made it 2-1 on 69, and Lee Glover hit his 17th goal of the season in the final minute to keep Millers play-off hopes alive.

The last win on April 25th was 20 years ago with a 3-1 victory over Newport at Millmoor.
A comfortable win against relegated Newport was sealed by goals from Gareth Evans 2 and Andy Williams.
Paul Compton replying for County.

On April 25th 1981, a point would have been enough to give Rotherham United the Third Division Championship, but Brentford had other ideas at Griffin Park.
The champagne was put back on ice till the following week as goals from Bob Booker and Terry Hurlock beat the Millers 2-1.
Ronnie Moore netted his 24th goal of the season as The Millers slumped to their first defeat in 8 games.
