'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Robins post Cheltenham

Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, once again rued the soft goals his team conceded today.

'It was a game of two halves,' he told Radio Sheffield, 'and we were doing really well in the first half but conceded a soft goal before the break. We had four or five chances before that and we could have scored more.

'We knew they would come out and come at us in the second half and I can't legislate for the second and third goals. You have to question the defence and the goalkeeper.

'It's so frustrating that we keep conceding soft goals. We are going to have to make some changes and I think there is a lot of work to be done before next season.

'Next week, at Bristol, can't come soon enough after the inept display today in the second half.'

He then went on to talk about some of the players, 'Nat (Kerr) did some good things - he is a decent defender but is young and still has a lot to learn. Marc Newsham took his goal well - it was a good finish and Ian Henderson got his first goal for us.

'I'm going to be talking with some of the players at the end of the season and then the ball will be in their court. I need people to come in and strengthen the squad.
