'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Millers Douglas on relegation

Rotherham United's Chief Operating Officer, Paul Douglas has today told MillersWorld the effect relegation with have on the club.

'It's not good news,'he admitted. 'We lose some of the money from the Football League, the televison and radio rights. Also, the parachute money for relegated clubs has gone down.

'We also have to take into consideration the fact that being in a lower league means we will be playing lesser clubs, which means smaller gates.

'We know the supporters must be getting fed up with us pleading, especially in the last few years, but we hope they will get behind the club and buy season tickets.

'The current Board are made up of Rotherham United supporters who were able to step in and save the club. They will continue to do their best for the club but they can only do so much.

'We know the fans will get frustrated, but it's our Club and we need to support it.

'I hope we have reached a point where we can start to climb back and have a positive season and winning ways. The word 'supporter' means supporting the team and that means supporting the team through thick and thin.'
