RUFC - Questions and Answers

Rotherham United fans were asked to send in their questions to be answered at last nights forum by the Directors of the club.

1 What was the implications after the court case and what does it mean to the club now?

A - An overview of the case was given by Giles Brearley and he assured everyone that whatever the outcome, RUFC would still be playing at Millmoor.

2 Why has the club adopted this seasons pricing structure

A - After a lot of thought it was clear that the club could not reduce prices, but if next season is a good one, they will review this. The board also spoke of how pleased they were with the positive nature of the supporters regarding the number of season tickets sold to date.

3 Why did the club react in the way they did at the last game of the season with regards the scenes after the final whistle

A - Paul Douglas, Chief Operations Officer, explained that the club had to work inline with FA rules to avoid any action being taken against the club. He also said the club works closely with Police regarding health and safety

4 Can we have an overview on contracts and transfers - especially the Woods deal and the loan back of Hoskins and Williamson

A - The Chairman stated that the club did try to loan back Lee Williamson from Watford, but the player wanted to stay there and fight for a place in the first team. He the explained that the club were continuing to reduce the players wage bill but Mark Robins would be supported with the bringing in of new players for the League Two challenge.

The evening finished with questions from the floor which ranged from player fitness to a suggestion that Rotherham Borough Council increase the council tax of every SUFC and SWFC fans living in the Rotherham area.

The directors hope everyone had an enjoyable evening and left with a clearer understanding of the running of the club.

Thanks pandapops! The typing is easy! It's the checking for mistakes that I find difficult (and as for doing other things on computers, I have help for that!)
