RUFC on track with season tickets

Rotherham United are on target to equal last season's sale of season tickets, according to The Advertiser.

Last year, the club sold 1,800 season tickets and, with two months still to go, have already sold over 1,500.

Undecided fans are being told not to let the ongoing legal wrangle with the Booth family put them off buying tickets - and are being told not to presuppose that it could spell the end of the club.

Manager, Mark Robins, said the supporters shouldn't be worried about their investment, although he acknowledged that he realised 'the supporters had had their hands burned before.'

'There is a lot of scepticism and misunderstanding about the court case with the Booths,' Robins said, 'If we were to lose the case it would just mean we would go back to being sitting tenants. We will survive and it won't mean there would be no football club.

'We are delighted with the response and would like to thank everyone who has bought season tickets so far, but we need more to do so to give us a stonger chance in League Two next season.

'With clubs competing for the same players the extra funds from season ticket sales can give us the little bit of an edge - an extra boost. With the proper backing, we can go far.'

Rotherham's income from the Football League has dropped, with relegation, to £250,000 (a loss of £100,000), although there is a parachute payment of £50,000. But season ticket income remains vital.

The club want to remind people that there are still discounts on season tickets until 30 June.

After the season ticket prices came out many people were saying they weren't getting them - so, have you all changed your minds or have we lots of new season ticket holders?
