'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - D-Day - 16th August

The legal battle between CF Booth Limited and Rotherham United is due to come to a head on 16th August.

In February the Landowners, CF Booth Limited, launched a bid to repossess Millmoor, The Tivoli pub and the training ground and facilities at Hooton Lodge because of rent arrears of over £13,000. The club then decided to launch their own High Court challenge to the leases under which the rent was claimed.

A judge, this week will rule, on 16 August, if the challenge by the club should go to trial. If the judge says 'yes' to a trial, the club will be able to go ahead with their legal bid to take back ownership of the ground and other sites.

If the judge rules against, it will just mean that the club go back to how it was before with the Booth family being the landlords and the Millers having to pay rents of nearly £200,000 per year.

On Thursday there was a pre-trial hearing at Leeds High Court, where the club's barristers put their case.

16th August is the day of the Carling Cup game against neighbours Sheffield Wednesday - so let's hope we have two things to celebrate that evening!
