RUFC - Coughlan, spanner in works

Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, has told The Star that he came very close to signing ex Owls captain, Graham Coughlan.

'He would have been an outstanding signing,' Robins said, 'but, there was a spanner in the works and it was not to be.'

The Millers had lengthy talks with the defender and Robins says he thought, at one stage, he was coming.

'He was the one we wanted,' admits the Millers manager, 'but a decision was made and now we have to move on.

'We have plans to look at a player but I won;t be rushed into anything.'

As reported on Rotherham Vital at the weekend, Graham Coughlan is at the moment having a trial with Leeds United.

Shame, if Mark rates him, he must be good.
