'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Cahill in fitness race

Rotherham United's new striker, Tom Cahill, will be fighting against time to be fit for the start of the season.

The twenty year old has recently had keyhole surgery on a knee problem which was found to be a cyst on his cartilage, which was removed.

He was told it would probably be three weeks before he is fit but manager, Mark Robins, told The Star that he thinks Cahill will be fit before that.

'He's a very fit young lad,' the manager said, 'and because of this he will get over the operation quicker than some would.

'The rest of the squad will be playing games but he is working hard and won't be far behind them.

'We'll make sure, when the time comes, he will get the games in.'
