'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins - 'An Improvement'

Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins was pleased with the defence after last night's nil-nil draw away at Burton Albion.

'It was pleasing to keep a clean sheet,' he told The Star. 'It was an improvement on the last game and that's what I was looking for.

'We have a lot of new lads and they are starting to pull together and once they have the fitness under their belts they will gel more.

'One or two of the lads played the full ninety minutes which will do them good and I was pleased with the younger players as well. They looked comfortable on the ball and they will put pressure on the others for first team places.

'Pre-season friendlies are all about fitness and this was another ninety minutes under our belt.'

It's the first pre-season game I've been to, but I was just pleased that we came away with a clean sheet. That must surely boost the confidence of the defenders/goalies. And, we have a goalie with a big gob and mean eyes!
