'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins Post Barnsley

Rotherham United's manager, Mark Robins, has told the Official Site that he is pleased that today see's another game under the belt.

'It was a good work out for both sides,' Robins said, 'and a lot of our players have played the ninety minutes and are fit.

'In terms of football we are OK, though we have a couple of niggling injuries at the moment.

'Depending on performances in the next few games will determine if we have the right personnel at the club. I'm pleased with the players we have brought in and I think people will be able to see the potential in them.

'The result didn't matter, it was a typical pre-season game but I thought we had a lot of possession.

'Brogan's goal was great and he has given me food for thought - he does well in mid-field but he can also play out on the left. And I thought Dale Tonge was outstanding today and I think this game was another step forward.

'We have a great bunch of players here and they want to work and get better.'

Have to say the players looked like they were playing for each other today - a couple of lapse's at the back, but the captain had 'words' which is good to see
