'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Robins post Hartlepool

Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, saw his team come away with a two-one win against Hartlepool this afternoon at Millmoor.

Robins told the Official Site, 'I thought they tested us today, they are a good passing side and we seemed to handle that very well. Ex-Miller, Richie Barker, was a big threat.

'Today was really about seeing how we can push ourselves for the season and I would have liked to see us explore the more forward role but we have worked hard this week.

'Hartlepool gave us a game today and I was pleased with our performance.

'We are now going to look forward to the game next week against Hereford.'

If I can have my say - I thought we played like a team who wanted to play today and I would like to praise all the lads. I have to say Andy Warrington hadn't filled me with confidence in the games I had seen him in but today I thought he looked at ease and we could hear him shouting from the Railway End to the Tivoli - which can only be good. The two Holmes boys and Chris O'Grady played together like they had been doing it for months instead of weeks and the defence looked a lot more solid.

I think the team that started today will be the starting line-up next Saturday.

Bring on the season!
