RUFC - 'No' to midfielder

Rotherham United manager, Mark Robins, has told the Star that he won't be persuing Kevin O'Conner as a loanee.

O'Conner played in the Pontin's League Play-Off for the Reserves yesterday afternoon and Robins was looking at him as a potential short term replacement for the injured Mark Hudson.

O'Conner, from Wolves, is an Under 21 Republic of Ireland international and Robins said, 'I am grateful that Mick McCarthy let him come so we could take a look at him, but we aren't going to pursue that one right now although it may crop up further down the line.'

The reserves won the game two-nil with both goals coming from Marc Newsham and will take on Birmingham in the final - a date and venue is yet to be confirmed.
