RUFC - How's The Pitch?

Rotherham United's Official Site has today been talking to Bill Cosby, the groundsman down at Millmoor, about how the pitch is going after the recent floods.

'We did have a problem with the floods,' Mr Cosby said, 'which meant we had to re-turf the goal area at one end of the pitch.

'There was a lot of cleaning up to be done as well involving the seats and in fact this is still ongoing.

'At one point we did wonder how we were going to get rid of all the water, oil and diesel damage, but things turned out OK.

'The pitch is fine now and there is no damage to the grass, even after playing the pre-season games on it. Actually, we are putting more water on it at the moment to make it softer.

'The training ground has been a bigger problem, although everything should be up and running for the 17th August.

'We are just waiting for the season to begin.'
