RUFC - Laws upset over Tudgay injury

Rotherham United captain, Graham Coughlan, upset Sheffield Wednesday manager, Brian Laws last night with a rash challenge on Marcus Tudgay, which has left the player with what looks like a broken collarbone.

Laws said, of the ex Owls player, 'for whatever reason Coughlan got it into his mind that he was going for the player and not the ball. It's quite clear there was some aggression in the tackle and a follow-through.'

Laws, who was speaking with Sheffield Wednesday's Official Site, said he is going to take it further, 'I haven't seen a tackle like that for a decade and it's something that the FA and refereeing is supposed to stamp out.

'I shall make the FA aware that our player could be out for weeks and I shall be sending them a video and asking them to look at it.

'Just look at the incident, it was an outrageous tackle. It was very aggressive indeed and the slow motion picture tells you a story.

'I shall also be speaking to Keith Hackett of the referee's association about the way the referee handled the game.

'If the referee had stamped his authority on the game early on the tackle might not have happened.'

sour grapes that`s all

Why would it be sour grapes Mexbro? We knocked you out easily in the end and looking at the replay it's clear Coughlan had revenge in his eyes- not that it matters, he was too slow for the championship and he just couldn't accept it.
