Rotherham United have asked the current landlords of Millmoor to come and talk - or face another court case.
The club have asked for the Booth family to get together with them and 'thrash out' a deal that would benefit both parties.
Giles Brearley, the clubs financial director, said he didn't think this would happen.
'It would be better if the Booths called me,' he told The Advertiser, 'for a chat. But I am not holding my breath.
'Our long term plans hinge on getting a more favourable rent by going down the litigation route. This is something that has been forced on us.
'It would be OK to have the Booth family as landlords if it was on a decent rent.'
According to the Advertiser, because of an agreement made when the lease deal was agreed, the rent has increased from £15,947 per month to £16,380 per month - which is an increase of £196,560 per year.
After going to court over an agreement drawn up when Millers 05 were in charge, which the present board think unfair, and losing, the Chairman, Denis Coleman will get together with other board members next month and plan what the next step will be.
The most likely option is another court case.
Mr Brearely said, 'There is another door we could open which looks at Ken Booth senior, but we would do this reluctantly because we respect Mr Booth's age. But, if we went for more legal action then it would have to be down that route.
'We feel Rotherham United have been wronged and we would want the court to balance the books.
'We feel that during the court case last week the real issue wasn't really looked at and that's so frustrating.
'It ended up in legal arguments. The other arguments we wanted looking at such as the valuation of the ground were not discussed.'
