RUFC - O'Grady listens to Robins

RUFC - O'Grady listens to Robins

Rotherham United striker, Chris O'Grady, has told The Advertiser that 'the gaffer' is helping him in his forward role at the club.

O'Grady, who came from Leicester in January, says that in the summer he got to grips with what he could improve on in his game and used the pre-season friendlies to do it.

'The gaffer has given me pointers to lift my game,' he said. 'He's helped me to improve a bit of everything.

'He has taught me how to channel my energies. Like not to run when I don't need to and I have a better idea now of where to be on the field and when it's best to make runs behind defences.

'This could be my first full season of first team football and I am aiming to get into double figures goalwise.'

Tallking about the team he said, 'As a striker it gives you confidence when you know you have a safe defence. It means Derek Holmes and I can go forward and try and win matches. I think the more we play together the better we get.

'The gaffer has put together a side to get success in this division and we believe we have a team who can get out of this league.'

I have to agree with O'Grady when he says Derek Holmes and he get better the more they play together. They already seem to have an understanding on the pitch - long may it last.
