'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - Captain pre JP Trophy

Rotherham United's captain, Graham Coughlan, has been talking to Radio Sheffield today before the game and says he is looking forward to it.

'We need to get Saturday out of our system,' Coughlan said, 'we were disappointed on Saturday and when you come off the pitch and little kids are saying they are disappointed with a draw it means something.

'Tonight is really a local derby and we want to progress in the cup. If you aren't up for any football game then you shouldn't be playing - you should even want to win in training.

'Winning breeds confidence and makes you more successful. There's little point competing if you aren't going out to win - you get great satisfaction from winning.

'This might not be a great cup game but you have to look at the bigger picture. You are talking about appearances, bonus's and pride. I can tell you that the team I am in will be giving 110%.

'By the way, I'm a disaster in cup games - I don't think I have ever progressed in any cup game I've played in and I've never taken a penalty in the league or cup - though if the manager asks me to take one tonight I will.

'The crowd have been right behind us - even on Saturday and there is a buzz around the place.'
