RUFC - Ref Watch v Darlington

The referee chosen to officiate at Saturday's gaem betwen Rotherham United and Darlington at Millmoor will be....

MR DARREN DRYSDALE FROM LINCOLNSHIRE.

Darren was born on 18th February 1971 and started refereeing in 1988.

After working his way through the Northern Alliance League and The Northern Premier League he was promoted to the Football League Assistant Referees list in 1996.

2 years later he made it to the Premier League list, before joining the FIFA list in 2000 after being Assistant Ref at the 2000 FA Cup final.

Darren joined the National list of Referees at the start of the 2004-2005 season.

This will be Darren's 3rd game in charge of Rotherham United.

His first game was the First round FA Cup tie against Mansfield Town at Millmoor in November 2005.

In that game Mr Drysdale sent off Rotherham's Michael Keane and Gus Uhlenbeek from the visitors in the 90th Minute.

2 players were also shown the yellow card as the Millers lost 4-3 following a last minute winner by former player Richie Barker.

Butler, Gilchrist and Mullen from The Millers, plus Hjelde and Brown from the Stags were all shown yellow.



Secondly was the 3-1 victory at Port Vale in October 2005.

5 players were shown the yellow card including Hoskins, Williamson and Cochrane from Rotherham.
