'If It's Football, It's Vital'

RUFC - need to work a little harder

Rotherham United's captain, Graham Coughlan, told The Advertiser that it's good that teams are showing us a little bit of respect but, when you realise that you have only won one game in four, then maybe you have to work that little bit harder.

Coughlan, who joined from Sheffield Wednesday, just before the season, said, 'It's been a tough start for us but really, you want to be competing against the stronger sides and we have started OK.

'The trouble against Chester last week was that we got ourselves dragged down to playing at their level. It was an awful game to play in so must have been poor to watch. They did a professional job on us and hopefully we will go away from home and do the same to other teams.

'We have to remember that we have a new squad and the boys have only just learnt each others names.

'Winter is coming and that might be a good time for us - a little bit of rain and a bit of slick on the surface and we will be able to pop the ball around a little better.

'We've set our targets and we know what points percentage we need to be on at the end of each month. We have standards and I want to see us live up to them.'

I like the way he says 'I expect...' - nice to know he is sharing his experience and taking some of the responsibilities away from the management

Im confident we have the right blend in this team to challenge for honours come the end of the season.
